NMB Pamoja Account is a group savings account for both formal and informal community groups formed with a purpose of saving and giving loans to its group members.

These community groups include but not limited to Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), Saving and Internal Lending Communities (SILC), Village Community Banks (VICOBA), Community-Based Savings Groups (CBSG), Community-Based Organizations (CBO), Family and Friends Groups, to mention a few.

With this account, groups enjoy the following:

  • Free access to mobile platforms (*150*68#).
  • Optional access to cheque books.
  • Access other NMB channels i.e. Branches, wakala, ATMs and NMB Mkononi.
  • Digital members management; group signatories can add or remove member from a group.
  • Tri-pin functionality which allows convenient local authorization of fund transfer and transactions.
  • Members can request loans from their mobile phones.
  • Instant disbursement of loan from group to member after group signatories’ authorization.

You need to have the following to open Pamoja Account

  • It should be an informal or formal group.
  • Group constitution highlighting terms and conditions.
  • Group resolution letter with consent to open and operate an account with NMB Bank stipulating the following:
    • The NMB branch where the account is opened.
    • Account signatories.
    • Authorizing signatories.
    • Names, titles and responsibilities of the members.
  • Introduction letter from Local Government Authority Village Executive Officer (VEO)/Ward Executive Officer (WEO) of each signatory.
  • Copies of identity cards of signatories i.e. National ID, Voters ID, Passport or Driving license.
  • Two passport size photographs with a blue background of each signatory.
  • Minimum opening balance of TZS 30,000.
  • Available in local currency (TZS) only.
