Overview
Business Interruption Insurance covers loss of profit resulting from disruptions caused by events insured under a fire policy or machinery breakdown policy. Covered risks include natural disasters, fire, explosions, equipment breakdown, supply chain interruption, and government actions.

The cover typically includes loss of revenue, ongoing expenses such as rent and salaries, extra expenses such as temporary relocation and potential future earnings.

Information required for issuance or quotation

  • Annual gross profit
  • Auditor fees if they are to be covered
  • Expected period of business interruption following a loss or damage
  • Coverage requirements, including sum insured, indemnity period, and waiting period

Claims procedures and documents required

  1. Notify the insurer or NMB claims team immediately

  2. Copy of ID including NIDA, Driving License or Voter’s ID

  3. Duly completed claim form

  4. Any additional documents requested
