On10th March, 2014 NMB partnered with three automobile companies to help Tanzanians acquire motorbikes and tricycles (Three Wheeler).The bank, which has the widest branch network in Tanzania, is offering affordable loans to those willing to own motorbikes and tricycles obtained from Fair Deal Auto Private Ltd, Car & General Limited Ltd and Quality Motors Limited.

The move goes in line with NMB's commitment of bringing financial services that directly impact on lives of its customers and Tanzanians in general.Fair Deal Auto Private Ltd distributes Bajaj motorbikes and tricycles while Car & General Limited Ltd distributes TV'S King motorbikes and tricycles.Quality Motors distributes Honda motorbikes.
Officially unveiling the service in Mwanza region, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (Investment and Empowerment) Dr Mary Nagu said introduction of the loans was a clear testimony of the importance that NMB attaches to improving lives of Tanzania's youths.

"With the bicycles and tricycles, acquired through these loans, the youths will be able to make both ends meet," she said. She was optimistic that the loans will help ease the problem of unemployment among Tanzania's youths. "I can only call upon them to grasp this opportunity," she said.
The NMB head of Business Banking, Filbert Mponzi shared Dr Nagu's sentiments – noting that the new service was surely meant to create avenues for self-employment among the youths.

"NMB will keep on designing initiatives that seek to relieve Tanzanians of the challenges that they face in their endeavors to get access to financial services," he said.

To get the loan, one will be required to pay 30 per cent of the price for the motorcycle or tricycle as sold by the three companies.

One will be required to repay the loans in a period of 24 months with money being paid in accordance with the agreement between the client and the bank.

In the same vein, the loans come with an insurance policy that seeks to cover eventualities such as death and accidents that may occur to the loan holder.

The loans are now available at 21 of NMB's branches countrywide as follows:
