NMB Bank has organized a customer networking meeting with its top end Business Customers and corporates who command an annual turnover of over TZS 10 Billion each. The meeting attracted over 150 customers from Lake Zone regions of Mwanza, Mara and Kagera.

Limited number of SME customers with turnover of over TZS 2 Billion were also invited in the gathering which among others they discussed on ways to improve their business relationship and foster rewarding relationship between the bank and its customers.

Members of the Executive Network also acquired financial, regulatory, business, forex governance and marketing training. This will improve business knowledge of the country’s corporates, and SMEs.

The NMB Business Executive Network is Limited to big Commercial Cities of Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha, Morogoro, Mbeya, Mtwara and Kilimanjaro.

The NMB Bank’s Chief Wholesale Banking – Richard Makungwa, said that the aim of holding such meetings is to strengthen business relations with its top end business and corporate customers.

“NMB is committed in ensuring that customers get the best while contributing to their business growth, the bank has done remarkable improvements and innovation to suit the need of customers”. Private Banking and the launch of business centers in big cities are among the improvement,” Said Mr Makungwa

Mr Makungwa further said “the improvements done by the bank so far will help to bring services more close to this segment of customers where they will not only get the best services but also acquire financial, regulatory, business, forex and marketing education in order to become and remain competitive.”

He further said after the banks successfully implemented the business clubs which targeted Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), the bank decided to start the business executive network to bring in the top customers who are above the MSME category.

NMB Business Network is a network for specially designed for SMEs Emerging and Large Corporates. Members of this Network typically get trained in capacity building in areas affecting business (Business planning, Taxation, Business Regulations), trade finance facilities, sponsorship to major trade countries (China, Hong Kong, Dubai), Fast track treatment at all NMB Branches, Preferential forex rates, Special ID for identification in  all NMB Branches.

SME activities are of paramount importance to both the bank and the economy where in just few years the bank has so far supported over 60,000 SMEs nationwide, representing 25 per cent of the NMB’s overall business.

Through the Banks support to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), NMB has created business centres, which are dedicated branches only for SMEs nationwide. They are currently in Kariakoo, Sinza, Arusha, Mbeya, Dodoma, Morogoro, Kahama, Moshi, Mtwara and Mwanza.
