NMB Bank Tanzania has today announced a partnership with Star Times Tanzania - the largest pay TV Company to allow star time subscribers pay their subscription fees through NMB Bank.

The partnership will make it possible for Star Times Subscribers to pay for their fees not only through their mobile phones using NMB Mobile platform but also through all NMB branches across the network. NMB Bank has the largest network of branches and customer base with over 176 branches present in all the districts across the country with over 2 Million customers.

According to Mr. Boma Raballa, – Acting Head of Personal Banking the bank has fully accommodated star times within NMB mobile and the entire branch network in the country. This service is convenient and safe for customers to use.

“Mobile money banking services has become paramount important for national development and brings our customers closer to our services as they can pay their subscription fees and other bills at the comfort of their homes through their Mobile phone via NMB mobile”.

 “I am particularly honored today as we launch yet another service that brings together two giant companies in Tanzania, the giant bank – NMB and a giant Pay TV company – Star Times Tanzania this will provide a platform that promotes financial inclusion in Tanzania,”

Speaking at the launch, the Star Times Marketing Manager – Mr Damien said “this partnership clearly demonstrates the revolutionary role that a Bank and a Pay TV company can play while simplifying payments for their customers and communities in general.”

With this move, both NMB and non NMB customers can pay their Star Times subscription fees through NMB mobile and NMB branches. Tanzanians in both urban and rural areas can now easily manage their finances, business as well as simplify their economic activities at all times through their mobile phones.

If an NMB customer opts to pay through NMB Mobile, the customer must be registered on NMB Mobile from any NMB ATM, once registered dial *150*66# to select Payment Services then Star times and follow simple instructions to pay for your required subscription amount. A customer will get payment confirmation through SMS notification for every payment made. Payments through NMB Mobile can also be made when outside the country as long as you have your roaming service activated.
