August is the month to celebrate farmers; we celebrate their achievements and their contribution to the national economy through “Nane Nane exhibitions”.

This year NMB participated in 7 zones – Dodoma for central zone, Mwanza for lake zone, Arusha for Northern Zone, Mbeya for Highlands Zone, Lindi for Southern zone, Morogoro for Eastern Zone and Simiyu for Western zone. We won in Lake, Northern and Eastern Zones and first runners up after BOT in Central, Highland, and Southern Zone whereas in Western zone we took fourth position.

Our Managing Director, Ineke Bussemaker graced the national ceremony in Simiyu region for 2018. Speaking at the Nane Nane exhibition, the MD said the bank has set aside more than TZS 100 billion to support the agriculture sector in the country and the amount is expected to rise up to TZS 500 billion in the next few years

Ineke further said since agriculture is the back bone of the nation economy, it needs a joint support from different stakeholders to support.
