Joyce joined the Board of Directors of NMB Bank Plc in July 2025. She brings close to two decades of experience in forensic accounting, compliance, and corporate investigations across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and beyond. 

Joyce is currently a Principal at Control Risks, a London-headquartered global risk management firm, where she leads teams across Africa and the Middle East and advises international boards on matters of risk, regulatory compliance and financial advisory support. 

Her career spans senior leadership roles, including Associate Director and Head of Forensics at Rooth & Wessels in South Africa, where she built and managed the firm’s fraud, risk, and forensic practice, and several years with PwC and EY, conducting forensic audits and corporate investigations for both public and private sector clients. Joyce has also advised governments, multinational corporations, and financial institutions on fraud risk management, governance, ESG, and sustainability reporting.

An accomplished professional with an MBA in International Business from Coventry University (UK) and a B.Com in Accounting and Finance from Mzumbe University (Tanzania), she is also an Applied Corporate Governance Specialist in South Africa. Joyce holds memberships with several professional bodies including the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Institute of Risk Management, and the Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners.

Recognized among the Top 50 Women in Management Africa (2019) and winner of the East Africa Women Leaders Award (2020), Joyce has served as an advisor on multiple investigation and advisory committees, including for Petra Diamonds (UK), the Legal Practice Council (South Africa), and the National Development Agency Board (South Africa). She continues to serve on the Advisory Panel of the Association of Corporate Investigators in London. 

As a passionate advocate for ethics, integrity, and women’s leadership, Joyce continues to be a thought leader on governance and corporate sustainability, making her a transformative voice in risk management and corporate accountability.
