Filbert holds 17 years of experience in the banking sector, managing client-facing portfolios across Retail Banking, MSME, Corporate Banking, and agri-business. He rejoined NMB Bank in June 2018 as the Business Head of Wholesale Banking, having previously worked at NBC Bank, Barclays Tanzania, and the Absa Group, where he served as Retail Banking Director. He was appointed as the Chief Retail Officer (CRO) in June 2019, responsible for developing and executing the retail banking strategy, with a focus on delivering best-in-class, innovative, and customer-centric financial services. He also serves as a trustee of the Social Action Trust Fund (SATF) and as chairman of the Sugar Board of Tanzania, a board member of the Tanzania Mortgage Refinancing Company (TMRC), and a member of the NMB Foundation.
